FAT Wall was conceptualised 2017 as a parallel commentary and provocation to our work with University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg to reconceptualise their gatehouses. A speculative strategy around thickening functions, social and economic life of edges of the university were considered – eventually illustrated through a 3 minute film demonstrating the production of life and what we deem healthy social functions from the physical gestures built in to the wall’s physical make up.
